Die Pariser Künstlerin dringt illegal in Fabrikruinen und bricht in leerstehende Gebäude ein.

Abriss. Destruktion. Detonation.

ÅSA JUNGNELIUS

Åsa Jungnelius is an artist (MFA) and instructor at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design, based both in Stockholm and in Månsamåla in the province of Småland. She’s been linked to Kosta Boda since 2007. Jungnelius is the artistic director of the artist-driven project Residence-In-Nature and has many works featured in private and public collections throughout Sweden. She has received many awards and stipends at a number of art institutions. In collaboration with the LAST Studio, she designed parts of the tailor-made interior of the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.

ANNA EHRNER

“For me, creativity takes place in the blowing room. This is were the glass is conceived, where it is fashioned and comes alive. I want to work with the glass, not against it. In my designs, I try to follow along with the melt, with the sheer power of the glass, although I try at the same time identify the simple and subtle.”

Anna Ehrner is experimental and stylistic in her expression. Her work is characterised by minimalistic yet powerful design language. Coloured lines inside the glass are a recurring feature for Anna Ehrner.

Göran Wärff

“The melt glowing in the furnance is what inspires me to new discoveries. Every gather fills me with the desire to give new expression to the magic of glass. I want to make a piece of glass into the bearer of light, the ocean and air. I want to create a place where light, warmth and sensuality can live.”

Very few people have such a depth of feeling for glass melt as Göran Wärff, who has always been keen to nurture the expertise involved in the classic traditions of glassblowing and cutting. The play of light in the volume of clear glass and the endless optical phenomena that occur when glass refacts light are constantly recurring themes in Wärff´s products. As well as glass itself, nature and the play of light in the landscape are his other main sources of inspiration.

BERTIL VALLIEN

“I love to work with a theme. Glass offers possibilities that no other material can. It’s like the outpouring from a volcano where the glowing mass is rapidlytransformed into ice. The challenge is to capture the look and the light at justthe right moment to allow the glass to reveal its secrets.”

Bertil Vallien is Sweden’s most famous glass artist and designer. He has won numerous awards and is richly represented in museums throughout the world. Vallien works with a mystical, dreamlike and symbolic world of motifs and carries out what he himself describes as an investigation, in close collaboration with his colleagues, many of whom he has worked closely with for decades. Vallien is most famous as an expert sand caster. His solid boats in a deep blue colour are part of modern glass history. He is also the creator of Château, one of Kosta Boda’s most popular glassware series
